Official handover of four Isuzu NPR 300 Trucks to the Mossel Bay Municipality.

On Friday 2 July, CP Nel Motors celebrated the official handover of four Isuzu NPR 300 Trucks to the Mossel Bay Municipality. This tender was awarded to CP Nel Motors during April, following the normal tender process and represents an additional four Isuzu Trucks to the Mossel Bay Municipality’s already large fleet of Isuzu trucks.

CP Nel Motors Mossel Bay qualifies in 4X4 course

The CP Nel Motors Mossel Bay team who have completed the TETA Training course on 4X4 driving were L to R Fransie Johnson, Sales exec, Malcolm McClelland, Dealer Principal, Ben Fourie, Sales exec, Matt laubscher, Sales exec, Charl vd Walt, Sales exec and D’Metri Griessel, General Sales Manager. This team is now fully qualified to provide expert advice to a buyer of a 4X4 vehicle.

Given the impending SA Governments legislation regarding the use of 4X4 vehicles in eco-sensitive areas, management of CP Nel Motors in Mossel Bay considered it prudent to qualify all sales staff in the new Unit Standards, as prescribed by the TETA. This new standard is known as US 254135 and is described as “Apply the techniques for operating four wheel drive vehicles in on-road and off-road conditions.”

The course was completed in late June under the auspices of the African Offroad Academy, which is one of very few correctly accredited TETA institutions able to offer compliance with the required standard nationally, and the only training institution in the Southern Cape.

It seems to be quite common that buyers of these technically advanced and very capable vehicles seldom are given any form of offroad exposure when buying their vehicle. Usually at best the handover will include some tips and a brief mention on how to engage four wheel drive, but very seldom will any hands-on instruction be given.

“There has to be therefore an opportunity to provide a very much better sales service to a buyer of such a vehicle,” says Malcolm McClelland, the Dealer principal of CP Nel Motors in Mossel Bay, who enrolled their full sales team on this course. “All our sales staff are now fully qualified to offer expert advice on many aspects of the safe operation of a 4X4 vehicle, and this has to be a value-add to our customers.”

The course took place over two days at the end of June and involved both the theoretical aspects of drivetrains, vehicle specifications and driving techniques, plus a good deal of practical driving in what could be described as extreme conditions. Examination was also in the form of a lengthy written exam, plus a practical assessment over a difficult driving course.

The CP Nel Motors sales team were unanimous in their praise for the learning experience and were also in awe of the incredible abilities of the Isuzu KB300 and Isuzu KB 250 bakkies which were put through their paces. Three Isuzu vehicles were used by the team, being the very popular KB300 LX 4X4 Double Cab, the KB300 LX 4X4 Extended Cab and the KB250 D-Teq 4X4 Workhorse. All three bakkies acquitted themselves very well and all people who were on the course with the CP Nel Motors Team were especially impressed with the fact that all Isuzu 4X4’s come with rear difflock as standard, as this feature makes getting out of difficult situations a relatively simple matter.

CP Nel Motors Rocks!

poster_has_mosselbaaiposter_has_stilbaai

CP Nel Motors have recently assisted to sponsor a group of musical students from the University of the Free State with the costs of their tour to the Garden Route. The local organizer of the tour had the following to say after CP Nel confirmed the fuel sponsorship:

” I also want to mention that I took the liberty of approaching CP Nel Motors, because I am the proud owner of a Corsa Sport bakkie, which I purchased from your Dealership about a year and a half ago. She goes so well, my third Corsa vehicle and I’m proud of it. Again you have proved yourself in being a Dealership with vision and that you are not just there to take from the Garden Route community but also to give to the Garden Route community. I am not running down our local Dealer, but at the stage of purchasing my bakkie, he could not meet your deal and again he failed the test when we approached him for this small fuel sponsorship, we got a very unfriendly “NO”

You guys rock!

On behalf of Belle productions, once again, thank you !!”

CP Nel staff in new dress code

DSC_3001

CP Nel Motors have recently modernized their dress code and every second Friday calls for an Isuzu identity. Seen on the showroom floor at the end of May 2010 is most of the vehicle sales team. From left to right they are: Arnel, who is the teams administrative right and left arm, Charl and Matt, who concentrate on Pre-owned vehicle sales, D’Metri, who is the Sales Manager responsible for both new and Pre-owned vehicles, Ben, who concentrates on New vehicles, Attie, who is the qualified and fully accredited Finance expert and Malcolm, who is the Dealer Principal. Missing from this pic is Fransie, who also concentrates on new vehicles and Isuzu Heavy trucks, as he was on leave.  The CP Nel Motors staff is always easily identifiable by the dress code, as they all comply to the same standard, as they do with all aspects of customer service.

Kenneth Cupido is the After Sales Manager and Zelda Schutte is the Service Advisor for CP Nel Motors in Mossel Bay. These two people are responsible for looking after customer’s vehicles while in the care of this Dealership. These two great people are also responsible for maintaining the level of measured CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) significantly higher than National averages, across all franchises. Every second Friday is Isuzu day, with Chevrolet being the alternate Friday. Kenneth and Zelda are showing off the recently introduced new Isuzu identity. Zelda can be heard on Eden FM, where she directly invites customers to call her, as it is she who actually does the work, not “quote – the bosses who make the service claims…..”

CP Nel Motors in Association with Eden FM

CP Nel Eden FM Car pics 004

CP Nel Motors Mossel Bay position ourselves in the marketplace as “Family you can Trust”, which is a fairly bold and brave statement to make, given the generally low standards of service delivery normally associated with the Garden Route.

Backing up this bold statement is a Company which is unique in more ways than one: one major difference to many other Companies is the fact that the management of CP Nel Motors – four people – are all also the owners of the business.  What this means is that customers are always dealing with people who are totally committed to providing outstandingly high standards of service.

CP Nel Motors have recently entered into an agreement with Eden FM, as both Companies enjoy a number of similarities:  both are young, energetic and vibrant.  Both Companies are wide awake to their market and the opportunities which are presented, so the synergies are comfortable and a good match.

Various combined promotional activities are planned for 2010, most probably also including the opportunity for an Eden FM listener to win the fabulous, funky, new Chevrolet Spark, which is only due for world release in the third quarter of 2010.

“You are likely to hear more from CP Nel Motors Mossel Bay – quite literally – in the future”, says Malcolm McClelland, Dealer principal of CP Nel Motors. “Because we offer such a personalized level of service, we don’t like using professional radio voices in our Eden FM ads – we don’t want the voice to say “they”, or “them”, as we prefer to say “I” or “we”, so we actually produce our radio ads ourselves. As a listener, you will therefore be listening to the same person who you will deal with when you visit us, and have his or her personal commitment to outstanding customer care.”

Eden FM can be found on your radio dial in the Mossel Bay area at 93,8mhz

CP Nel Motors in Mossel Bay, breaks into a Cape Town TV production Company

When Okuhle Media decided to expand its fleet of company vehicles, the Chevy Spark seemed the logical choice.

More Accolades for the Chev Cruze!

Cruze gets five stars for safety

The Chev Cruze has earned top rating of five stars from the European New Car Assessment Program (EuroNCAP), which released its latest safety ratings today.

According to EuroNCAP, the Cruze scored 79 points out of 100, making it one of the safest models in the passenger car class. The Cruze received a maximum 16 points in the frontal offset collision test and a maximum 8 points in the side impact crash test against a moving deformable barrier. The Chevrolet Cruze is the first passenger car to receive maximum scores in both tests since EuroNCAP began providing crash test ratings in 1997.

The independent European testing organization also awarded the compact sedan a high score of 7.3 out of 8 points in the more severe side pole test, indicating that Cruze’s reinforced side shell helps protect passengers in the event of a side collision. The headrests were well positioned to absorb crash energy against whiplash in a rear-end collision. The compact sedan was also given high marks for child and pedestrian protection during testing.

“We are pleased with the Cruze’s outstanding safety rating,” said Steve Clarke, vice president, global vehicle engineering. “Today’s results confirm that the Cruze offers benchmark safety. This complements its bold styling, excellent ride and handling, and outstanding value.”

The Cruze had earlier received best-in-class, five-star crash safety ratings in the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) testing in Australia and the Chinese New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP) testing in China.

Cruze COTY Finalist

The Chevrolet Cruze has been voted in by the South African Guild of Motoring Jounalists, as one of the eight finalists in this year’s COTY – Car of the Year competition.

Over 300 members of the SAGMJ voted from 136 different derivatives of new vehicles which were launched between September 2008 and October 2009. This list of new models was made up by 35 different manufacturers. From a final list of 90 cars, this was cut down to 40 cars on 23 November, during the SAGMJ adjudication process.

The SAGMJ jury panel then voted for the 8 finalists as voted for by the SAGMJ members. Our Chevrolet Cruze is the ONLY model in it’s market segment to have been selected – and the Cruze competes in very good company indeed !

The next “step” is a two day test period where all 8 finalists are evaluated at Gerotek by the SAGMJ COTY jury on 11 & 12 February 2010. The winner of the coveted COTY will be announced on 18 March 2010.

According to Malcolm Gauld – GMSA VP for Sales and Marketing, “The all-new Chevrolet Cruze is changing minds about what a sedan in this segment has to offer. With fresh new Chevrolet styling, a full suite of safety features and impressive value, the Cruze is making a strong inpression on South African motorists”.

Please note that CP Nel Motors in Mossel Bay has a Chevrolet Cruze available on demo at all times.

Flash news – Shoprite Truck order

In a graphic demonstration that CP Nel Motors in Mossel Bay has grown to be a company of substance, this local company has recently secured a major order from one of South Africa’s Supermarket Giants for 14 large Isuzu Trucks.

The order, which is worth close to R7 million, covers a total of 14 F-Series Isuzu Trucks, which will be delivered to Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth, with one truck going all the way to Maputo.

As a further demonstration of the commitment of the team at CP Nel Motors, all of the deliveries and handovers will be completed by the management themselves. In the words of Malcolm McClelland, the Dealer Principal : “We have four of us who specifically took the code EC driving test with PDP, in order that we are able to provide the level of service to all truck customers which they deserve. Three of us are in effect the ownership and management structure of the Company, and the fourth “driver” is Fransie Johnstone, the Sales Executive who is co-ordinating the massive transaction. Interestingly enough, the fourth ownership partner, Gail McKeown also actually does have an EC licence, but she chooses not to spend hours on the road fetching the trucks in Johannesburg and delivering them around the Country”.
